Awake, Alert, Aware, Mindful

There are different levels of consciousness.

One can be awake but not alert on what is going on. One can be alert but not aware of what is going on. One can be aware but not mindful of what is going on with self and the surrounding environment.

Different levels of consciousness come with different characteristics. If one is awake with no higher level of consciousness, life passes by without ever knowing what is precious and important. If one is always alert but not aware, stress of alertness becomes a habitual default mode for brain. Awareness of self and the surrounding brings more peace.

The ultimate peace comes when one is mindful of the reality of the present time. In this situation, one is in control, however the essence of control is not based on controlling others, but controlling self as an observer of the rest.

Be mindful of the reality of the present: ultimate peace

This is the higher level of consciousness with inclusion of all other levels: Awake, alert and aware of self and the rest of the universe. This state of mind comes with multiple positive health effects as one becomes harmonious, inside and out with the rest of the world. Even in sever distress, one becomes an observer of the unpleasant experience, rather than being a sufferer of it.

There is significant healing power in this state of being that have been proven by scientific evidences of many studies. The good news is that this ability is always with us. We do not need to go anywhere or pay anything to tap into it. All we need is practice. We need to be Awake, Alert, Aware and Mindful.
