[bliccaThemes_dropcap drop_style=”cleany” drop_text=”O”][/bliccaThemes_dropcap] One of the most important parts of taking control of our situation, what ever the situation may be, is to set up SMART goals. It is easy to set goals but achieving them is always a challenge.
So if we are going to set goals, they better be SMART goals. SMART means: Specific – Measurable – Attainable by Action – Realistic and Timely.

It is important to set goals for any situation in our life, from taking control of our pain, managing our work or mSMARTaking any other life decisions. But if the goal we set is not SMART, the chances of failure would increase and with that comes disappointment, depression and worsening of our condition. When we are setting goals we have to be very specific about what we want to achieve.Clarity about our destination would improve the chances of reaching it. We can better determine our path to our destination if we know exactly where we want to go. Our effort to reach to our destination or goal should be measurable. We should be able to measure how close or far we are to our goals at each given moment. By being able to measure our efforts and how closer we are to our goals, we can make better decisions about our path to our desired destination. The goal we chose should be attainable by the way of our action. We should not set up for failure by thinking of unattainable goals that would exhaust our actions and are doomed to fail. Our goals should be realistic. There are many things we may like to happen in our lives but it is important to be realistic about our goals and priorities our action because we only have a limited amount of energy. Whatever we set as our goals, should be connected to a time frame for completion as well. Without a completion date attached to our goals, we may have less inclination to commit to them.
If we set SMART goals for our health, work and life, there is higher chances of achieving them and enjoying the results.
