The Only Thing We Have Is Now

  • November 27, 2011

In our lives we are trained to do things and forget to be and live at the moment. However, the past and future are only concepts and the only reality is NOW. Carrying heavy baggage of the past or consuming our lives in the worry of future, however important it may be, will distract us from being and living at moment. Gradually we change from human beings into human doings. We keep doing things without being aware of our life and existence at the moment. This becomes our pattern of life and we may spend most of our life in the past or future, meaning living in the concepts and not in the actual reality.
The practice of MEDITATION can bring our minds to the present time and we learn to live in the reality of this moment, where our lives are actually happening. If we learn how to stay focused at the moment, our brain function will change over time and we will start to feel much more relaxed and happier. This is because our Gene structure is made to be happy at each moment of life but our training through life teaches us to remember the bad experiences of the past or leave happiness up to a success in the future. No room is left for happiness at the moment. In reality, THE ONLY THING WE HAVE IS NOW. Living at the moment can help us heal better and live a real life.
