Being Healthy Is Different From The Absence Of Disease

Oxford dictionary describes HEALTH as a person’s condition in absence of disease and injury. However, not every person without disease or injury can be considered healthy. There are so many people with poor lifestyle habits that are not considered disease but can lead into one.

A person with poor nutritional preferences, inactive daily plan and stress centered mind my not have any disease, but can this person experience the full potential of health?

Too often we see people complaining of tiredness, worry and body discomforts that cannot be classified as any specific type of disease. Yet, they are not healthy. Often, they have difficulties with their appetite and never enjoy their food. Poor body habits like bad posture may be present as well. Irregular sleep and lack of relaxation can be present. A sedentary life style and inactivity might be a factor.
A worrying mind may play into this. Or it may be ALL of  THE ABOVE, and many more!!
Protecting our health is an active process and is different from not being sick. It becomes harder when poor health choices have become habits. Changing these habits may not be easy and needs active planning. Changing health related habits is like changing a person altogether. What we do with our body and through our mind affects how we feel. In turn, the feelings would have effects on our body sensations. So by changing the health related habits, we may impact bodily feelings and our thought process. Decisions that a tense and tired person with poor sleep and bad diet makes are different with when the same person had proper rest, sleep and a good nutritious habits. Any car would work better on a cleaner gas and when the engine is not overheated.
Our body and mind is much more complex than any machine we would ever handle in life. If we spend more energy, time and money to take care of our cars compared to our health, there is something wrong.
