Decision to Change

We spend a big portion of our lives feeling miserable. We wonder if there is a way out of this misery to find some peace. Many precious moments of our lives are wasted on regret, worry and fear. We search through different treatments, therapies, cultural traditions and hope to find a remedy for our misery. For some of us, this is a life time quest to find a solution somewhere in our horizons. We search and search but we don’t find the peace we are looking for. Then our doing mind starts to blame us as unworthy of happiness, believing there is something seriously wrong with us and that is why we can’t be happy.

The new emergence of Mindfulness Meditation and it’s effects on different medical and psychological conditions have made research in this area more popular. More and more scientific evidences are becoming available that show Mindfulness Meditation practices can change our outlook of life from a negative worrisome and regretful view into a positive presence in the joyful moment.

One of the most important and interesting research results that became available in 2014 was an extensive review of all research studies done on objective evidences of meditation outcomes from all different schools of meditation. It was shown that meditation can have positive mental function and emotional effects regardless of the schools of practices. There are neuro-imaging and neuro-functional evidences showing the actual effects of different meditation practices. It is proven that we are born to be happy but learn to be miserable. We are trained to rely on our doing mind which is more of the function of our left side of brain function. With practice we can activate the being mode function of the right side of our brain and become present in the moment and more in tune with true happiness, letting go with regrets, worries and fears.

It appears that we do not need to search for any solution outside of our mind. The biggest journey we have to make in life is not by going anywhere, it’s to come back to our true self.
So if all of these are true, then what are we waiting for? Why are we still wasting years of our lives in misery? It is time to make the biggest decision that will change our lives.
DECISION TO CHANGE. It is up to us to make this decision to change the life of misery and chose eternal peace. Are we ready to make this decision?
